Pat Flynn on your new career

This is one of my favorite interviews, because it touches on the very foundation of being professional and humane at the same time.

Pat shares the story of how he lost his job in the financial crisis of 2008. Pretty soon it became clear that the crisis hit everyone – so none of his industry contacts was able to offer a new job.

Pat Flynn hat to start from scratch. Pat and Chris talk about the similarities to todays corona crisis -and about the actions, friends and mindsets that helped Pat to shift from architecture to his new career.

Fast forward twelve years and Pat is now not only a highly successful entrepreneur and a podcaster with millions of downloads – he also managed to build a business that feeds his soul and not only his stomach.

Pat was kind enough to open free downloads for his books “Will it fly?” and “Let go”.  You get this wonderful books together with other free resources here:

First job interview within 18 hours!

    May 2, 2023
Summer 2013. My fellow students looked intently at the photos of the two men that I had projected onto the screen. I had to prepare a short presentation for a term paper. I decided to do a little experiment instead. I explained the task to my fellow students: You are asked to interview a candidate for the position of Finance Director. But you can only choose one of the two. Which one are you inviting and why?” Three quarters of my classmates chose the gentleman with white hair - and white skin. Only a quarter w voted for the man with black hair and "southern complexion". The dark-skinned man was Carlos Slim, then the richest man in the world. The white man was the fraudster Bernard L. Madoff.
