In Germany it’s called “Home office” elsewhere it’s referred to as “work from home.”
Almost everyone wants an option to WFH, but the remote job openings seem to be less and less since the covid or corona time. I checked and it turns out there are only 7,281 remote jobs available in Germany compared to 619,350 total jobs.
That’s just under 1.2% of all job posts in Germany that offer WFH or Home office.
*This is considering Full-time, English job posts.
If you only look at permanent (Unbefristet) positions, that amount drops even lower to 6,259 remote jobs.
Not everyone wants to work from home every day, but having the option on Mondays or Fridays is something that really appeals to a lot of people.
What you could do instead, is write to the manager of your future position and ask him or her if the job post is accurate with regards to home office allowance.
“Is there any possibility for home office?”
You might be surprised if they tell you, in reality, they are more accepting for people to work at home a few days of the week.
