What should you do in the holiday months?

It’s almost August!

July and August are Holiday months in Europe if you haven’t heard it before.

I also just got back from my yearly vacation since our last program ended at the end of June.

Not much will happen in August. It’s the ideal time to prepare yourself for the job search near the end of the year.

Because by September 1st, the hiring season begins again.

The reason: Managers want a full team before the year ends – so that they can defend their budget. They avoid a budget cut when they fill the open roles.

Here are 3 ways to prepare…

1. Figure out what you really want.

2. Make sacrifices to minimize everything else.

Indeed or LinkedIn “Easy Apply” is the method that most international jobseekers follow.

Please always keep in mind: If it’s easy for you, it’s just as easy for them to reject you. Plus, it’s just as easy for your competition.

Harsh truth: You aren’t a standard candidate, which is why you are here reading this.

So guess what? You can’t apply in the standard fashion.

3. August is the perfect time to reflect & recharge.

Offices are typically empty, emails don’t get answered, and hardly any hiring decisions are made.

So my tip for you… Take a deep breath & Relax.
