The best jobs in Germany for English speakers in a Top 10 list. I analyse the complete German jobmarket in regard to career opportunities for international professionals.
The Top 10 best jobs in Germany
It’s pretty clear where the demand is in Germany – and where not:
- Software Developer
- Web Developer
- Sales Manager
- SAP Consultant
- Account Manager
- Product Manager
- Business Development Manager
- Project Leader
- Customer Support Consultant
- IT Manager
Interesting to note: The required education for these jobs is relatively low. You need a University degree, but in most cases a bachelor will do. Two thirds of all English jobs advertised in Germany require only a bachelor degree.
If your university degree is accepted as “of equal value” by the German authorities then the legal requirements to get a visa (if needed) are relatively low: You need a job offer with a contract and you need a certain minimum salary – which you will exceed in most of these high demand professions, anyway.

It is important to understand that only a small percentage of jobs in Germany are advertised in English. For the best jobs in Germany the percentage is higher, but still much lower than in other parts of the world. For example: Less than nine percent of all software developer jobs in Germany are advertised in English. And even then the job requirements might list “fluent German required”.
There is a way to overcome this obstacle, though. Over the years I have helped over 100 international professionals to get a job in Germany. My clients come from all kind of professional backgrounds and from all over the world.
