Some quick updates this week.

The Expat Fair in Berlin was a big success. We had four hours of non-stop visitors to the stand at one point, and I learned some new things about what you are struggling with in the job search.

One memorable discussion was from a girl who said I’ve been applying for a year” and I asked, “how many interviews have you received?” She replied, “None.”

Even though the rate can be 1/100 applications to an interview request, this was still shocking for me to hear.

It reminded me of when I was making applications from Seattle into Berlin, before I joined the Expats Job Miracle, then only focused on reaching out to hiring managers directly.

It was so nice to meet some of you in person for the first time and share stories. There were plenty of newcomers as well, so if you are just joining us this week, welcome to the weekly newsletter!

The results from the survey two weeks ago are in.

67.5% (A) your job search is urgent 🚨

29.7% (B) you’re rather passively looking around 👀

Only a handful of you wrote that you are either (C) happy and not searching, or (D) not looking for a year at least.

That’s it for this week! More surveys and weekly tips to come.

Kind regards,
